Just a bit of wisdom...one of the most important things I've learned in a Bible study was "nothing good ever comes from manipulation." I try to remember this whenever I'm tempted to do something just to get my way. It's something I try not to forget everyday. I think Orual's stabbing herself and threatening to kill Psyche was the ultimate manipulation.
Chapter 14 had me extremely interested and flipping page after page wondering where it would lead to. When I read the part where Orual stabbed herself, I was shocked. I think that she definitely went overboard with that, but I think that she wanted to prove to Psyche that she loved her so much that she was willing to do herself harm. In the end, after Psyche swore on the sword, Orual immediately felt horrible for what she did. Does this at all remind us of the times where WE try to manipulate OUR loved ones to do things by going over the top with convincing them? Remember that chapter every time that you want someone to do something that they don't want to do. You never know where it will lead...
