Remember there are few original stories......

Has anyone gotten to p 69 yet? Does this line remind you of anything: Psyche says regarding Redival on p 69, "No, no. She also does what she doesn't know." Reread this page and the next. Can you see any parallels between this story and another you may have read? You might want to read Luke 23:33-35. Does this change your perspective of Psyche?

That is a very good point about the book, actually. And when I looked up the Bible verse (Luke 23:33-35) I saw and pictured Psyche in a whole new way...

In the Bible, it clearly states that Jesus, while nailed to the cross, said about his people who He pitied, "Forgive them, Father...for they know not what they do." This goes along the lines of Psyche's words, which are, "No, no. She also does what she doesn't know."

So, this story, and Psyche's character, can resemble the story of Jesus Christ being nailed to the cross and having pity (like Psyche did) for those who are cruel upon Him.
